Canggu is a small coastal town located in the southern part of Bali, Indonesia. It is a popular destination for digital nomads due to its laid-back lifestyle, affordable cost of living, and thriving coworking scene. As a digital nomad who has been living in Canggu for the past few months, I wanted to share what a typical day in my life looks like.
6:00 AM – Wake Up and Yoga
I start my day with a yoga session at one of the many yoga studios in Canggu. The town is known for its yoga scene, and there are plenty of options for all levels and styles. I usually go to a studio called The Practice, which offers early morning classes that are perfect for starting the day on the right foot. The Practice is located in Batu Bolong, one of the main streets in Canggu, where you can find many other yoga studios, cafes, and shops.
7:30 AM – Breakfast
After yoga, I head to one of the many cafes in Canggu for breakfast. There are plenty of options for healthy and delicious food, and I usually go for a smoothie bowl or avocado toast. One of my favorite cafes is Crate Cafe, which has a great atmosphere and amazing coffee. They also have a wide range of breakfast options, from pancakes to eggs benedict.
8:30 AM – Work Time
After breakfast, it’s time to get to work. I usually head to one of the many coworking spaces in Canggu, such as Dojo Bali or Outpost. These spaces offer high-speed internet, comfortable workspaces, and a community of like-minded individuals. It’s a great way to stay productive and meet new people at the same time. Dojo Bali is located in Echo Beach, a popular surf spot in Canggu, and has a rooftop terrace with a great view of the ocean.
12:30 PM – Lunch Break
Around midday, I take a break from work to grab some lunch. There are plenty of options for cheap and delicious food in Canggu, from local warungs to trendy cafes. One of my favorite places to grab lunch is Warung Bu Mi, which serves traditional Indonesian food at a great price. They have a variety of dishes, from nasi campur (mixed rice) to mie goreng (fried noodles).
1:30 PM – Work Time (Part 2)
After lunch, it’s back to work for the afternoon. I find that I’m most productive in the afternoons, so I try to schedule my most important tasks for this time. I also take advantage of the coworking spaces’ amenities, such as meeting rooms and printing services. Outpost is located in Berawa, another popular area in Canggu, and has a pool and a bar where you can relax after work.
5:30 PM – Sunset Surf
One of the best things about living in Canggu is the proximity to the beach. After finishing work for the day, I usually head to the beach for a sunset surf session. The waves in Canggu are perfect for beginners and intermediate surfers, and there are plenty of surf schools and board rentals available. Batu Bolong Beach is one of the most popular surf spots in Canggu, and you can rent a board for around $5 per hour.
7:00 PM – Dinner
After surfing, it’s time for dinner. There are plenty of options for food in Canggu, from local warungs to upscale restaurants. One of my favorite places to eat is La Brisa, a beach club that serves delicious food and has a great atmosphere. They have a variety of dishes, from seafood to pizza, and their cocktails are also worth trying. La Brisa is located in Echo Beach and has a beachfront view.
9:00 PM – Relaxation Time
After dinner, I usually spend some time relaxing and winding down for the day. There are plenty of options for nightlife in Canggu, from beach clubs to bars, but I prefer to keep things low-key. I usually read a book or watch a movie before heading to bed. If you’re looking for a quiet place to relax, you can visit Samadi Bali, a yoga and wellness center that offers meditation classes and massages.
11:00 PM – Bedtime
After a long day, it’s time to hit the hay. Canggu is a quiet town, so it’s easy to get a good night’s sleep. I usually fall asleep quickly, dreaming of another day in paradise.
