Virtual Desktop – Jorcus

Virtual Desktop Tech

Lost my laptop. Someone said I should connect to a virtual desktop, a computer in the cloud that shares its screen over the internet into an app. Does anybody use a virtual desktop, and have an app they recommend?

What are you planning to do? Do you plan to track down a lost laptop or do you need a cloud pc for temporary use case?

If you are looking for a Cloud PC. I think Windows 365 Cloud PC is not bad. You can connect to it through a browser, even on your mobile phone.

Yes, that’s possible. There are several options for this. When traveling, I use a cheap (50$) Linux laptop, then connect to AWS Workspaces, with a Windows10 installation. This way I am not affected if my laptop gets stolen or lost, and the AWS workspace only costs about 0.30$ per hour when I am working on it.

Cool idea, how does it work? Do you let it run 24 hours or can you turn it off to freeze the bill until next time you use it?

Wondering how’s the download/upload speed of it on speedtest.net. Windows 365 Cloud PC has a decent internet speed (10Gbps).
