
Lead Build Game Engineer
Job Description:
The client is seeking a highly skilled Lead Build Game Engineer to join our client’s dynamic team in the Seattle, WA area, working remotely. As a Lead Build Game Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing tools that empower global development teams to create high-quality video games.
Responsibilities:
Build Infrastructure Management:Oversee and enhance the build infrastructure, providing a roadmap for feature development, estimating time and cost, and ensuring automation, reliability, and observability.
Operation and Maintenance:Operate and maintain the build infrastructure utilized across the game/franchise portfolio.
Provide timely troubleshooting and resolution of system, network, and infrastructure issues.
On-Call Support:Be available for 24×7 on-call rotations to address any urgent infrastructure-related issues.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 8+ years of professional experience in AAA scale Unreal Engine game development.
- CI/CD Pipeline: Proficiency in automated CI/CD pipelines, with preference given to experience with Azure DevOps or Jenkins.
- Scripting and Programming Languages: 4+ years of experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Ruby) and compiled object-oriented languages (e.g., C++, Go, C#).
- Source Control: 4+ years of experience administering Perforce source control systems.
- Cloud Infrastructure: 4+ years of experience building infrastructure on Azure or AWS.
Additional Requirements:
- Automated Testing: Expertise in implementing automated unit and integration tests.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving abilities, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Independence and Time Management: Strong ability to work independently and efficiently manage time.
Bonus Skills:
- Unreal Engine Knowledge: Deep understanding of Unreal Engine’s build pipeline and asset management systems.
- CI/CD Support: Experience supporting Perforce-based CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaboration: Experience collaborating with non-engineering disciplines and remote teams.
- Infrastructure Tools: Familiarity with infrastructure tools such as Kubernetes and Docker.
