Unreal Engine open-world map making
You have an outstanding experience in video game-level design, and you are a productive team leader who excels at daily progress. You engage your team with tasks that all feed into our mutual production pipeline. Taking maps, 3D models, and level layouts and turning them into unique, and beautiful terrain experiences, designed for attraction and playability.
Together we are making a fresh, breathtaking, open-world hero shooter game experience made on Epic Games’ Unreal Engine. You plan, understand, and apply texture and level streaming, Mip-Map distance bias, particle LODs, proper LOD use, and texture tiling by distance (as basic examples). You understand the use of Unreal Engine Material Instances.
You have a love and passion for working on level design and creating environments the player can experience in awe. You are experienced in working with Photoshop, Speedtree, audio, 3D, and Substance keeping highly organized assets properly stored and backed up. Skilled in Unreal Engine level design, sculpting terrain, following map layouts and designs, including the use of height and splat maps. You are a patient teacher of these skills to your team to help make each of them more productive.
Our design allows for wide-open 3D gameplay that is truly thrilling to experience. Like a rollercoaster ride off the rails, we put the players in charge, so that they control and create the ‘ride’. You will build out an expansive high-fantasy world where players win arenas to acquire more territory.
Plan out world, routes, puzzles, and level-dressing
Show regular weekly progress
Planning, and presenting open-world-level flow
Creating plans, paths, and blockages with various solutions
Developing our open-world gameplay as designed
3-playable maps for Pre-Alpha
4-additional playable maps for our Alpha stage
Underground-level development for each of our Pit/banishing system
Experience with Subversion (version control software)
Experience with Unreal Engine-level development
Unreal Engine, World Creator and/or World Builder, and/or Gaia experience.
Honest and accurate assumptions
Ability to block out and test designs
Ability to polish and produce triple-A content

You embody a love and passion for working in entertainment that is truly good for gamers. You work remotely. You track your own time. You will begin part-time. After a 3-month trial period, you may go full-time, continually paid up to 40-to-50 hours a week at any time as proven and required at the company’s discretion. IMU Studios Inc. is in a growth phase, seeking various roles for contract work.

Filled with playable stories, meaningful quests, arenas, and game challenges. Allowing players to freely explore and discover all of the beautiful details as revealed. TEAM IMU creates environments that players can experience in awe, all built on the visual power and performance of the Unreal Engine.
