HTML – Deprecated Tags

The HTML has been invented for many years. Some HTML tags we use till today and some we no longer using it anymore. The HTML tags we no longer using it anymore in today that we called it deprecated tags. Most of them are replaced by new technologies that does an even better job.

  • <acronym> – Replaced by <abbr>
  • <applet> – Replaced by <object>
  • <embed> – Replaced by <object>
  • <frame> – Replaced by <iframe>
  • <plaintext> – Replaced by <pre>
  • <tt> – Replaced by <code>
  • <xmp> – Replaced by <pre>
  • <marquee> – Replaced by animation, transform (CSS)
  • <dir> – Replaced by <ul> list-style (CSS)
  • <blink> – Replaced by animation (CSS)
  • <big> – Replaced by font-size (CSS)
  • <basefont> – Replaced by font-size, font-family, etc. (CSS)
  • <center> – Replaced by text-algin (CSS)
  • <font> – Replaced by font-family, font-size, etc. (CSS)
  • <s> – Replaced by text-decoration (CSS)
  • <strike> – Replaced by text-decoration (CSS)
  • <u> – Replaced by text-deecoration (CSS)
